Fear Not, In Life’s Tempast Blast

Written By: Dan Miller, M.A., LPC, BCPCC

As I sailed upon the stormy oceans
I faced the tempest blast
I feared my days at end
My time had come at last
The crackle of the thunder
Sent a tremble through my veins
Accompanied by fellow shipmates
Our fleeting courage wanes
The waters wish to carry
Our souls out to sea
I hear the voices of the many
Calling out to me
They beckon for us to rest with them
In their watery graves
A man’s dreams forever lost
Where disparity enslaves
Through the roaring thunder
His gentle voice cries out to me
Authority in His words
It offered peace and tranquility

God spoke:
“So do not fear,
for I am with you;
do not be dismayed,
for I am your God.
I will strengthen you
and help you;
I will uphold you
with my righteous right hand (Isaiah 41:10).”
“Lo, I am with you always,
Even unto the end of the world (Matt. 28:20).”
“Never will I leave you,
Never will I forsake you (Hebrews 13:5).”
